Hygiene Rating Audit (HRA)

Hygiene Rating Audit (HRA) is a voluntary initiative by FSSAI designed to assess and
publicly display the hygiene and food safety standards of food service establishments.
The rating is given in the form of smiley-based stickers or certificates, which help
consumers make informed choices about where they eat.The rating is awarded after an
independent audit conducted by FSSAI-approved hygiene rating agencies.

Who Should Undergo HRA?

Although voluntary, it is recommended for:

FoSTaC

FoSTaC is an FSSAI initiative that provides mandatory and voluntary food safety training
for different categories of food business operators (FBOs) and their employees.
The program ensures that people involved in the food business understand food safety,
hygiene, and regulatory requirements and are capable of maintaining safe food
practices.
